Ampersand badges

Now that my badges have arrived for the campaign i have designed the simple badge packaging that they can be sent out in. i wanted to keep it simple as if they were produced on large scale, the less printing and packaging needed.

I went for a simple fold design so that the badge can be attached and the rear pin of the badge isnt seen.

Screened tote bags

I finally got my totes bags screen printed. As i havn't screen printed for a while it was abit of a learning curve to get it correct the first time. After a few test prints i finally to some nice prints on the totes bags. i am quit pleased with the results, the first item for the campaign has come together and the campaign and strapline work well.

Screening process

Fresh tote bags

I have had to buy some new tote bags to print on tomorrow. I can't wait for the results, hopefully they are good ones.

Screen printing the bags

Today i went down to the screen printing facility with my negatives to expose my screen for printing my tote bags. I haven't screen printed in a long time so it was a jog of the memory and i was away... slowly at first i must admit. I documented the steps i took whilst down there this evening:

In the time provided i could only get to the stage where i had exposed my screen and washed it and now it was ready to print. I will have to return tomorrow morning to finish off this process and then have the finished and printed tote bags to show and analyse. So far i have enjoyed the process and it was informing doing screen printing again after such a long time away. i should utilize this facility more often.

Printed negs

I have just printed out my neg designs for the designs that i am going to screen print onto my tote bags. I hope to expose my screen today and print tomorrow. this will be a quick turn around and will give me time to make changes or print more if i want to.

Here are my negs:

Taking the strap line and imagery that i am using across the range of my campaign i have laid it out on an indesign document ready to go to print to produce my negatives for screen printing my tote bags.

Here is the design that i laid onto a 30 x 30cm square to fit the dimensions of the tote bags:

Tote bags

I have taken the standard strap line and ampersand that i am using for my campaign and then applied it to a variety of things as concepts that i intend to create. One of these is tote bags.  As these are a great fashion accessory they also make great walking advertisements. i intend to apply this design to large tote bags in an experiment, and if the results are satisfying i will continue and possible extend the range with a range of different typefaces.

Designs going to print

Using the previous template i have chosen 4 ampersand sto use to send to print and 1 with the campaign strap-line. I am looking forward to getting these back seeing what they look like. Whilst i am awaiting their arrival i will design some packaging in which they can be contained, individually or as a group.

Here are the designs that i have sent to print:

Pin badge template

I have decided to layout the badge full spread on the badge to get the most out of the ampersand and to ensure that it is visible form distance as the badge is only 25mm round.
